Surfs' Up on the last "Official"weekend of summer

Whew, what a summer it has been!  I have been absent from my blog for quite sometime but now that the kids are ready to head back to school (thank goodness!) I am back at my computer and ready to share with you.  Since it is the last "official" weekend of summer I thought I would share some fun layouts I made using Surf's Up!  I hope you enjoy!

Here is another layout using the same products mentioned above.  On this layout I hand trimmed some of the waves to use as a stencil.  The is mixed some Create-a-Shade Pearl Paint with water in a spray pen and sprayed the corners to make some waves.

Here is a close up of the effect.  Once dry it gives a nice shimmer to the paper.

When I was introduced to Close To My Heart I fell in love with the Workshops on the Go!  Creating the layouts was easy and they were beautiful, they made me feel creative!  Now that I have done my fair share of these WOTGs I find there are so many benefits!  One of my favorites is that I learn a new technique with each one I do! So, my next few posts will focus on the layouts I have done with our Workshops on the Go.  Today I will feature Clementine.  It is no longer offered as a WOTG but you can purchase the elements individually and create these beautiful layouts!

This is a close-up of the "leathering" technique used on these layouts!  Just spritz your paper with a little water, crumple  and smooth out to dry.  You can lightly iron it to smooth it out if you like.  sponge the wrinkles with a matching ink shade.

This is a card I made for my Mom for her Birthday!  It is my take on a cascade bouquet card.  I love this card, I think it adds a little bit of spring to our cold Michigan landscape!
